Berryshine woke up. It was still nighttime, and she figured that she had woken up because of the pain in her leg. That was the worst of the injuries the fox had given her. But it was a lot better than before. She wondered why she had even attacked the fox in the first place considering it had already started to flee. Maybe that was just a mouse brained thing to do. Pondering this, she regretted charging at the fox because now she couldn't help her clanmates with 'operation; river restoration'. Her ears drooped and she lay very still. Then a new thought came into her mind. Should I even regret charging at the fox? She wondered.

"We'll just have to be quick about the attack." Flamestar replied, heading towards the medicine cat's den.
"Are you feeling any better Berryshine? You should stay in camp during the attack on the Twolegs." Flamestar collected some herbs and plonked them on Berryshine.

Hazelfern looked doubtfully at Berryshine, "shouldn't we wait until we have ALL our cats? besides we don't even know how many dogs there are."

"Well, let's continue rebuilding camp shall we!" Flamestar gestured for Hazelfern to come with for a hunting patrol. "Fernstorm, wanna come too?"

Hazelfern nodded and followed Flamestar out of the den, "The prey has returned since the great quake," she commented as she promptly caught a thrush.

"Great catch!" Flamestar commented "That should feed a couple of hungry mouths back at camp."
She eyed a vole near a tree and rushed toward it like the whole of LeopardClam and snapped it's neck in her jaws
"Now, lets get back to camp."

Berryshine woke up with a bang. It felt as if hundreds of bubbles were popping around her. Her back was arched and she stood hissing, until she realized that it was a dream. She sighed. BS suddenly remembered that most of her limbs were okay. She could walk! Smiling she ambled out of the medicine cat's den, wanting to join her clanmates. She waited for her friends to arrive. Until Berryshine realized that Fernstorm had been in the den with her the WHOLE time, so turning around and crawling back to the medicine cat's den she tried to start a conversation with FS,
"So, um... why didn't u tell me you were here? And do you happen to know where the others are?"

Hazelfern emerged through the camp entrance proudly holding her thrush and a squirrel, "Berryshine! You're better!" she dropped her cath and ran over to her friend, and nuzzled her cheek. "Come share this thrush with me!"

"Yay! And thanks" Berryshine left Fernstorm in her den (maybe she had fallen asleep upright!) and prodded out of the den, careful not to step on her broken leg, seeing as that was the only part of her body, except the gash on her back, which was healed enough to expose into camp.
"I appreciate this Hazelfern, I haven't been out of the den for what seems like moons, even though it was only a quarter of a moon. I need to stretch my limbs." Berryshine purred. When she reached HF she bent over to take the first bite of bird.
"May I keep these feathers for my den? I'll share them with you as well, ok?"

Hazelfern purred, "It's alright, Berryshine. You keep the feathers. You deserve them." She bent her head and licked Berryshine's ear affectionately and took a gulp of the suclulent flesh of the thrush. "mm, this is good," she murmured half to her self.

Flamestar watched her fellow clanmates munch on the fresh kill as she sat down and chewed greedily on her own catch. She had finished it in a blink of an eye. Flamestar licked her lips and covered the scraps in dirt and dust, then heading over to Hazelfern and Berryshine.
"Hi Hazelfern. Hi Berryshine." Flamestar settled down beside them and drew continuous stokes of her paw over her ear "Berryshine, are feeling better? When do you think we should attack?"

Hazelfern gulped down a mouthful, "Suppose we didn't attack?" she bit another mouthful off, "We could wait. Instead of rushing into things head on like a blind rabbit, we could exploit their weaknesses." she sat up and drew a circle on the ground, "This here is our camp," she drew a mark with her claw, "and this here is the river," She drew a long line through the circle. "The dogs are a reasonable distance from camp, far enough they wouldn't find it." She paused thoughfully, "We still have the stream that runs just outside our border, here." she drew another line, "But suppose they are there as well." She looked up descisively, "We could attack, but that would only lead to more bloodshed, If we could post sentries, here, here and here, " she drew three marks close to the river, "We might find out what they are doing there."
She looked up and her eyes brightened, "I KNOW!" she cried, "Listen. The twolegs came just after the quake, right? So they and their dogs would be terrified of another one. If we could, somehow, recreate the quake, we could get rid of the twolegs!" she gazed at Berryshine and Flamestar, suddenly becoming aware she ha taked for ages, "What do you think?" she asked anxiously.

Berryshine had been recovering for almost a moon. The outcomes were pleasant. All the pain was gone, the scars had disappeared, and even her broken leg had healed. The thing was, that she now had a permanent scar across her back where the fox had deeply scratched her. It didn't hurt anymore though. She was ready to rejoin her clanmates. Good thing too, as she was almost clawing her fur off from staying in the medicine cat's den for so long. She was pleased to be facing her friends again and be ready for action.
"Yes it's an interesting idea Hazelfern, but I have one as well. Suppose we ASK the twolegs to refill the river. I mean, we could get them to come with us, show them the dried stream and then look at them for help. I know I'm crazy for thinking this and I also know that we're not kittypets, but think about it: The twolegs took our water away, right? Well they can probably fill it again just as easily, and it would be much harder, if not impossible to fill it ourselves. Don't you think? I say that a request is better than a manipulation. If we attack then that might just make it worse. I have a feeling that some twolegs like cats and would like to help us. We can always attack if they refuse, but I don't think that it's necessary. They might give in. What do you guys think?" She paused,
"Am I being too optimistic?"

"OH! Sorry Ivymist. Hey guys, did you even think of giving IM attention?" Berryshine nuzzled each of her friends.
"And by the way, I can hear you cats talking about Ivymist as if she wants to go back to being a kittypet. Three words for you guys: SHE DOES NOT!!!!" Berryshine hesitated for a moment,
"Any other ideas for dealing with the twolegs? Any comments for previously mentioned ideas?"

Hazelfern looked at Berryshine, then back to Ivymist, "I've got another idea! What if we used Berryshine's idea, but pretended we were hurt to get them to look at us. One of us could lead them to the dried up stream, were the rest of us will wait." She glanced around, "Berryshine? Will that work?

Fernstorm flew into the room to which everyone was discussing, and exclaimed "I AGREE!"
With that, she flew back out, and, unbeknownst to her clanmates, slept on top of the den. How she got up there, we may never know.
